Irish born Derby Browne studied music at the Royal Academy in Ireland, and was then awarded a coveted place at the Conservatory of Music in Dublin. She studied singing, piano, harpsichord and drama. Having decided on following an acting career, she moved to London, where she was a successful actress in the West End and acting in many T.V. productions and stage plays.
Her heart however, was in music. She returned to Dublin briefly, to enter Miss Ireland, and succeeded as a finalist, but withdrew to follow her passion of song, and immediately returned to London, to start at grass-roots level, playing jazz and French café music in the cafes and clubs in London.
